Committee meeting with Police & Highways
The committee met with PC Paul Gwynn, our local Community Officer, and Steve White of the Highways Department.   PC Gwynn drove the group around the parish to identify the areas of concern that the council wishes to address.   PC Gwynn offered invaluable advice and assured the committee that he would do all he could to assist in terms of the Speed Watch action and subsequent mobile speed camera operations.

The council then had a short meeting with Steve White, who offered constructive advice as to the best course of action that would need to be taken to achieve the end result the council is looking for.   With Steve’s guidance, five sites were provisionally identified for locating electronic speed signs and they have been sent to Highways for official acceptance.

Steve also confirmed that Highways would probably not object in principle to re-aligning the junction at Hall Lane / Knapton Road and gave the committee reason to believe that extending the 30mph speed limit to the Butterfly Walk could be possible.
