Monthly Parish Council Meetings
Parish Council meetings are usually start at 7pm on the 1st Tuesday of every month, though usually not in August and January.
The Agenda for Parish Council meetings is published on our website around a week or so before the date of the meeting and a printed hard copy is displayed on the Parish Council side of the village noticeboard on The Street.
A draft form of the Meeting Minutes of Parish Council meetings is published on our website around a week or so after the date of the meeting and a printed hard copy is displayed on the Parish Council side of the village noticeboard on The Street.
The drafted form of the Minutes will then be approved at the next meeting of the council.
You can download the Agenda or Minutes below or you can contact our Parish Clerk if you require hard copies.
Annual Meetings
There are two meetings every May, so there are two agendas and two sets of minutes
Annual Knapton Parish Meeting
This is not a council meeting.
It’s a public meeting open to all parishioners, any of whom can contribute to the meeting Agenda by contacting our Parish Clerk and typically these meetings discuss a range of current issues within the parish.
This meeting must take place between 1 March and 1 June and the Parish Council Chair, if present, will chair the meeting.
Annual Meeting of the Council
This is a full meeting of the Parish Council.
Because the Parish Council is a tier of Government this meeting is a legal requirement because operational codes are renewed and policies are adopted annually.
It’s also during this meeting that a Chair and vice-Chair are elected and committee members are appointed.
