Public Transport – by road

Sanders Coaches provide local bus services throughout North Norfolk plus a range of excursions and coach tours throughout the country.

Their Number 34 service run five times a day, Monday to Friday, and stops at Knapton Green and the Knapton Village Sign.   Clicking the button below will take you to their interactive online timetable which also provides a guide to fares and notices of any service alerts.

Dial a Ride is a door to door minibus transport service which is safe, accessible and affordable. They operate a bookable weekday transport service from your home to a variety of destinations which is available to anyone who does not have access to their own vehicle or appropriate public transport.

Dial a Medi Ride

This service provides transport for people who require an accessible vehicle to attend medical appointments.

The service is bookable Monday to Friday (subject to availability) and charged at 45p per mile from the North Norfolk Community Transport (NNCT) depot in North Walsham and back again. Payment will need to be made to the driver, on the day of travel.

NNUH journeys include a waiting time of 2 hours. Each additional half hour is charged at £5 to cover additional driver costs.

The vehicle can also accommodate a carer/friend/family member, as required

National Express provides direct transfers to all major UK and London airports.

Concessionary Travel

Age-related and Disabled travel passes are issued by Norfolk County Council.

You will automatically receive a new concessionary travel pass in the post if you have already had a pass issued by Norfolk County Council.

Public Transport – by rail

Greater Anglia is the rail operator that serves this region

Our nearest railway station is North Walsham which is served by the Bittern Line, providing services to Sheringham, Cromer and Norwich (including the intermediate stations) where you can connect to other services for London (Liverpool Street) and the rest of the UK.

The station address is; North Walsham Station, 1 Norwich Rd, North Walsham, NR28 9JP, where you will find wheelchair access and free parking.

The North Norfolk Railway is more popularly known as The Poppy Line.

From the smart Victorian seaside resort of Sheringham to the Georgian town of Holt, the North Norfolk Railway runs through the county’s most stunning coastal scenery.

Operated almost entirely by Volunteers from all walks of life, the line is East Anglia’s premier heritage railway.

Steam trains operate daily from April to October.
