The Street, Knapton - Essential Drainage Improvement Scheme
Work will begin on Monday 3 March 2025 to carry out carriageway drainage improvement works on The Street, Knapton. The works are expected to take 6 weeks to complete subject to suitable weather conditions.
The works include installation of a new pipe system, chambers and gullies to alleviate current issues with standing water in this location during periods of heavy rain.
To allow the works to be completed safely, The Street will need to be closed for the duration of works. Please see the enclosed PMB730-HD-0100-003 Diversion Route Map (showing the extents of works and details of the diversion routes).
Access will be maintained for residents in the closure during works from one side of the closure, although there may be some delays as trenches will be dug along and across the road. To ensure your safety, and that of our contractors, please speak with a member of the team before proceeding. Pedestrian access will not be affected.
The County Council thanks people for their patience while this road drainage improvement work is carried out. If access for Emergency Services is required, the site staff will ensure access past the works.
The work which will cost £96,000 will be carried out by Norfolk County Council’s Infrastructure Department and their contractors
